Black Friday 2012

The election ad campaigns are finally over, which means the holiday season is officially upon us. Clients of mine from years past may be wondering if I'll be offering a Black Friday special as I have for the past two years. In the past couple years, my Black Friday special offer was limited to only my Facebook "fans." This year, EVERYONE is hearing about it, but those who HAVE "liked" my Facebook business page will have an added perk that I'll be sharing next week. "Like" my page so you too can enjoy the special treatment!

Here are this year's Black Friday offers:

**Buy 2 gift certificates, get 1 free

OR

**Buy a 60-minute massage gift certificate and get 30-minutes added on to it for free

In the first option, the 2 paid-for gift certificates will not expire, but the free gift certificate will expire May 31, 2013. In the second option, the full 90-minutes will expire May 31, 2013, but the paid-for 60-minute portion will not expire. For either option, this offer is limited to 3 gift certificates per purchasing person, meaning you can 'buy 2, get 1 free' OR buy 3 60-minute + 30-minute gift certificates only.

Remember, you can "like" my Facebook page for extra special treatment not only for this Black Friday deal, but that's also where I post any same-day appointments that I'm trying to book and discount those appointments by $15!

WHEN: 8am-12pm Friday, November 23, 2012
HOW: Call 503-318-9626 or email me at rachelsheardlmt AT gmail DOT com. I can take your card information over the phone, and either mail your gift certificates to you, or arrange a time for you to pick them up. If you choose to email me, I will need your card number, expiration date, zipcode and the 3 digit code on the back of your card.
WHO: This offer is open to all current and past clients (and anyone you may forward this to).

By the way, do you know who my ideal clients are? I would MOST love for you to share the gift of massage with these people. Thanks!

Upcoming Events: Valentine's Day

Can you believe the first month of the year is already behind us? Maybe it's because I took my vacation in January, but that month sure flew by.

In less than two weeks, Cupid will be making his appearance. I won't be available for appointments on Valentine's Day--the Blazers are playing and hubby got quarter season tickets, so that's where I'll be! I will, however, be more than happy to be a part of making your sweetie's day fantastic. You can purchase a gift certificate online through my website (www.rslmt.com), over the phone (503-318-9626), or set up a time to pick one up in person (707 Madison Street, Oregon City--call first)--whichever is easiest for you. I'd say that would be a wonderful gift to get on Valentine's Day!

My schedule seems to be booking up more quickly lately. If you've normally booked your appointments one week at a time (car accident insurance clients...this is you!), or called looking for a same-day appointment, you'll find it's going to be much harder for me to get you in. Please try to have a few days/times in mind a week or two in advance that you think would work for you--I don't want to leave you hanging and not getting the care you need. I guess that's one negative side-effect of reaching a new level of success in my business!

A Dose of Inspiration: Holiday Magic

What a fantastic holiday season it's been. About 60 gift certificates for massages went out this season, including those from my Black Friday Special. Two of my clients shared some of their home baked goodies with me when they came for their massage. A couple clients padded their tip to me, as a special "holiday bonus." Another client brought me a Worry Doll wall hanging, soon to be gracing the wall in my massage room.

I am feeling the love!! I am thankful for all the gift certificate purchases. It means so much to me that my clients value my services so much that they want to share that experience with their family, friends, and coworkers.

So. So. Good!! I only have a picture of one of the goodies shared, because the other ones disappeared before I even thought about taking a pic. Delicious!

When you see these Guatemalan Worry Dolls on the wall in my massage room, I welcome you to tell them all your concerns. May they help you relax and find even more enjoyment from your time on my table.

PS--I still have lots and lots of the Lindt Lindor Truffle samples. They're sticking around a whole lot longer this year, since I vowed to keep MY hands off!! ;) They are SOOO good though, and come with a $1 off coupon too.

Hope everyone enjoys this holiday season as much as I am!

2011 Check-In

Wow, 2011 has been rocking so far! How is it going for you?

I maintained steadiness with clients in January, then took on a new endeavor: house hunting! Truth be told, I had been opposed to buying a house just yet, feeling like my husband and I needed to get a better grip on our finances first, but he and others kept saying now is the time to buy. My pivotal moment came late one night when I wasn't quite tired enough to go to sleep yet, and found myself perusing houses posted for sale on Craigslist. I told my husband if he could get us into "THAT" house, then I would do it. "THAT" house didn't end up being the one we put an offer on, but definitely moved us into the direction of buying now. We saw 16 or 18 houses, and put in an offer on one a couple weeks ago, and are planning to close by March 18.

In addition to staying busy with my regular work duties and house hunting, I was also preparing for the trip my husband and I took to Florida, including a cruise to the Bahamas, and my workshop back on land again in Boca Raton. We had a wonderful time, enjoying our respite from parenthood while our two boys stayed with family in our absence. With the completion of my workshop, I earned new credentials: CIPI--Certified Injury Prevention Instructor, though I still need to have a dry-run through presenting my own workshop as we had practiced together in Florida. I am excited for this new branch of business opportunity.

My husband and I had our taxes done yesterday, and thanks to my increased income last year, we moved into a different tax bracket, so our refund isn't quite what we anticipated. Ordinarily, that wouldn't be much of an issue, but with buying a house, we were counting on that money to buy our major appliances. I'm sure we will work that out somehow, and one way to help off-set that unexpected imbalance is for me to be available on weekends for appointments also now. I have opened my Clickbook scheduling availability to include Saturdays and Sundays between 9am-8:30pm (not that I expect to be booked full through those times, but just offering greater flexibility for additional income).

So, as you can see, I've been quite busy this year! I'm hoping that things will begin to settle down now (HAHA, I know!), and that I will get back into my regular blogging.

One more thing: our son's preschool (Oregon City Preschool) is having a fundraising auction on Saturday, March 5, located at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds 4H Hall, 604 NE 4th Avenue, Canby, OR 97013. If you would like to attend the auction and support Adam's school, you may buy dinner tickets for $10 (dessert included), or dessert and beverage only for $5. Raffle tickets are going for $2 each, or $5 for 3 tickets, and you can choose between entering the raffle for $200 cash, or an Amazon Kindle. There will be other raffles and live/silent auctions on-site. I've donated a 90 minute massage with body butter gift certificate, and there will be hundreds of other awesome items to bid on. You do not need to be present to win the $200 cash or Kindle raffles, however. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated! Please call me for more information and to buy dinner, dessert, and/or raffle tickets: 503-318-9626.
